E.F.W.: We Are Very Proud To Announce You The New Swedish Punk "On The Job"...

Chris: Hey Ferdie how ya goin?

E.F.W.: What’s the name of your band? What’s the origin of that name? Have you changed the band’s name before?

Chris: The bands name is On the Job, we took that name cause we couldnt find a better one. And it means a few funny stuff in englis salng.

E.F.W.: Please list the name, age, and respective instrument of each band member.

Chris: Aron , 23, The Drummer
Chris, 35, lead vox and guitar.
Masse, 41 Lead guitar backing vox
Ola, 31 Bass and backing vox

E.F.W.: What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your Underground influences (Favorite band)?

Chris: We we play Rock..n..Oi! A mix of rocken roll and 80:s Oi!
As for influences there are plenty but to name a few of the old ones 4-skins, Blitz and Rose Tattoo.

E.F.W.: How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

Chris: Me (Chris) and Ola go way back maybe 15 years and we have played a lot together during the years.
I met Masse and Aron when I recorded their old bands first ep. That was maybe 3 years ago.

E.F.W.: When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

Chris: We started rehearsing February 2009, but we had talked about doing something together in late 2008.
The inspiration is to make some kick ass music, and have good time doin it!

E.F.W.: Do you have a record label?

Chris: Yes Contra records are goin' to release our album in the autumn of 2009.

E.F.W.: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

Chris: Well since we..re so new as band we haven't done any gigs so far.
But we have started booking gigs for later this year.

E.F.W.: Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

Chris: We don't really have a set formula to write songs, but the first ones I wrote and I had demos recorded for the others to listen to.
But as we evolved as a band we more and more write the songs together in our rehearsal place.
The themes of our song is mainly about things we like or dislikes in our life in our daily life.
Well you never know what the next songs gone be like so the theme can constantly change.

E.F.W.: Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

Chris: Its hard to describe since the way our songs are being made is really different. Sometimes it starts whit the lyrics but more often it starts whit the music.
But the last song for the album is written on acoustic guitar in my living room.
And I brought that riff to the rehearsal place and in 30 minutes we added a few things and rearranged it a bit and it was an instant On the Job song.

E.F.W.: How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

Chris: Not really evolved, but its a lot easier to write songs togheter now.
As we..re not musically trained and barley know the name of the chords on the guitar.
But now we talk the same languages in musical terms, not that anyone else would understand what we..re talking about....

E.F.W.: What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

Chris: The biggest challenge is to write the best punk song ever haha. We..ll probably be occupied whit that for the rest of our lives...

E.F.W.: What’s your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

Chris: Fame and fortune? Then we probably chosen the wrong genre, no what this band is about is doin gigs and write music toghter.
Just beacause thats the best things in life.

E.F.W.: How's The Scene In Your Area?

Chris: In the smalltown where we liv it really sucks, not much goin on at all.
But Sweden in general its pretty good whit new and old bands putting out some really good music.

E.F.W.: What advice do you have for kids who want to form their own bands?

Chris: Just do it! If I can everyone can do it.

E.F.W.: What is the hardest thing about being in a band?

Chris: Its not really hard at all being in this band. Others bands I dont know.
Our worst trouble might be finding the time to reaherse as much as we want.

E.F.W.: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Chris: If you had asked me 10 years ago I wouldnt have said I still at the age of 35 played punk music.
So I better not make any assumtions what I..ll do int 10 years time.

E.F.W.: What is the one question you always wish people asked in an interview?

Chris: Whats your favorite beer ?

E.F.W.: What is the most important issue you think the nation needs to address?

Chris: Stand strong stand proud and dont take shit from anyone!

E.F.W.: Do you have any plans in the future?

Chris: Our main plans are recording the album and do as many gigs as we can after that.

E.F.W.: How to contact you?

Chris: www.myspace.com/onthejob

E.F.W.: Last words or shouts to all the kids out there.

Chris: Support the scene, go to gigs buy records etc.

Thanks for the interview!

have good weekend!

Chris, On the Job

E.F.W.: More Welcome and You have A Great Band By The Way!!! Cheers!!!!
